The BKM Committee
We could not do the tournaments without the help of volunteers. From the donation table supervisors to the timekeepers, we truly appreciate their generosity and efforts.
We are still looking for general help and photographers to volunteer! General help involves grabbing the timekeeper's sheets, supervising hockey games, and helping the girls at the raffle table. They will receive volunteer hours if needed. Please contact us for more information if you and or your friends are interested in supporting us!
Meet the team!
The following people are on the BKM committee. These are the volunteers founded the BKM and work almost all year long to bring you this fun event. We also need to mention that none of this would be possible either without our friends and family that support us each time!
Chris is our liason for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton as well as the Trillium Gift of Life Network. This year he is organizing the Big Brothers Big Sisters Group-Rec Activity. Prior to the tournament, Chris helps with recruiting, trophies, and sponsorships.
Chris will manage the Competitive Conference.
Jenn helps run the raffle table at the BKM! She manages the donations while making sure everyone has a great time. Prior to the tournament she is our graphic designer. Our logo, posters, and photos couldn't be done without her.
Before a tournament is even over, Daniel is already thinking about the next year! He oversees everything; from making arrangements with Canlan Ice Sports, recruiting teams, budgeting, marketing, and scheduling, he does it all! Oh, he also runs the Facebook account and website!
Andrea has been instrumental to the success of the tournament. She deals with running the room upstairs at the Thirsty Penguin bar. Before the tournament she spends majority of her time finding big sponsors and donations. She also runs the twitter account. Make sure to say hello when you see her!
Look at this beauty! John is one of our tournament reps. He contributes both on and off the ice. He reffed in our inagural year and since then he has been busy recruiting teams, running errands, and seeking corporate sponsorships. He has a big heart and he never says no. The BKM is very lucky to have him on board!
John will help manage the Recreational Conference with David. If he has time, he will strap on the skates of the BKM Kings.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask him!
David does some of our graphic design before each event. On behalf of Speed Pro Signs, they create beautiful banners such as our championship one that each winning team holds at the end of the tournament. Like John, he will be playing in the Recreational Conference as well as convening it.
Feel free to give him a shout and he will gladly help!
